3 months old

Little munchkin turned 3 months old on April 18, my first day back at work. Remember from my previous post, I mentioned my mom was doing the 3 month photo shoot with Gaven when I came home for lunch? I promised to post some pics, so here they are. Click on the picture to enlarge.

Some of you may have already seen these pics from my facebook. He is as adorable as ever! He is teething right now. Drooling a lot and constantly gnawing on his fingers and knuckles. He gets so aggressive sometimes, he puts his whole fist in his mouth! Surprised smile He is also talking up a storm now. He laughs and giggles a lot more now. Oh his giggles and laughter! How I adore them! I have to show you guys a video someday. We are enjoying every moment now before he grows up and starts talking back and getting on our nerves. For now, he is the joy of my life. His expression is so funny sometimes, he just cracks me up.

We went to his 3 month doctor visit last week. Since he got most of his vaccines at his 2 month visit, this time, he only got his oral vaccine (rotavirus). As usual, he got his height and weight checked. Munchkin is doing well and healthy. However, we noticed that his head is flat from sleeping on his back for too long. We let him sleep in one position all the time. We should have turn him once in a while. The doctor recommended that we get him checked at the cranial center to see if a helmet is necessary. I hope not! If he does need a helmet, he will have to wear it for 23 hours a day for 6-8 weeks. Poor baby! So now, we position him to sleep on his side, hoping that it will fix the problem. We made an appt with the cranial center for next Friday. I am hoping the flatness is not too serious and will fix itself since his skull is still pretty soft now.

See the bald spot? One side is flatter than the other. We try to give him tummy time during the day as much as possible but little munchkin hates tummy time.

Gaven’s 2 month doctor’s visit

This post was sitting in my draft for almost a month. I am finally finishing this up. For the record, Gaven is now 14 weeks old.

***********************************************

Gaven got his first vaccinations during his 2 month doctor’s visit. He was such a trooper. He screamed when the nurse poked the needle into his thigh but was easily calmed down. He got a few shots all at once, so poor little guy, got poked a few times.

Here’s the shots he had for his 2 months visit – Dtap, IPV (Polio), Hib, HBV, Prevnar-13, Rotavirus

We were worried that he will develop fever from the shots. So the nurse went ahead and gave him some baby tylenol before his vaccines.

Hanging out, no idea what he has in store for him yet.

Daddy undressed him to get his weight and height measured.

He has a little bag over his wee wee to get his urine checked.

All done, leaving doctor’s office. We gave him some baby tylenol again that night when he fussed and was having hard time going back to sleep.

Gaven + Work

My co workers have been wanting to meet Gaven since he was born. I felt a little strange bringing Gaven in to work by myself, so I arranged with Lisa, so she would bring Dylan the same day, although she had brought Dylan in to work many times. Dylan is about a month and a half Gaven’s senior.

Pictures taken a few weeks ago with Dave:

Gaven started fussing towards the end, so I had to cut the visit short. Dylan is such a calm baby. He doesn’t have a care in the world sitting next to screaming Gaven. Smile

Model Home Nursery

We went to take a tour at the model homes at Plum Canyon. My mom’s idea:

First day back at work

I realized that one thing I missed when going back to work was listening to Ryan’s Roses during my 7 min commute to work. Open-mouthed smileYes, I only have 7 min commute to work (don’t be jealous! Be right back) but it’s enough for me to listen to the last part of the juicy details of Ryan’s Roses.

This morning’s Ryan’s Roses was indeed entertaining! Usually it was the girlfriends or wives who wanted to know if their s.o. cheated on them or not but this morning, it was the boyfriend who called in to find out if his gf cheated on him. She was mad that he set her up on the radio show, so she proudly admitted her affair. The worst thing is she didn’t even feel sorry for her actions. So apparently, her bf signed her up for a gym membership and she got a little hurt because she thinks her bf thinks she’s overweight. So she met someone at the gym and started having casual r/ship with that guy! What’s better than to start a morning with such drama? Smile

Later that morning, hubby surprised me at work with this:

He’s afraid I would get too depressed for being away from Gaven for so long. LOL! What a sweetie… just for that, I’ll keep him for a little longer. Flirt male

I went home for lunch to check up on Gaven. To my surprise, I came home to Gaven’s 3 month old photo session in progress by my mom. She had Gaven dressed in his 3 months onesie and was busy snapping pictures away. I’ll post those pics soon when I get a chance to upload them. Time sure flew by quick. Little munchkin turned 3 months today. I still cannot believe we are raising a human being!

Gaven already has a girlfriend!

Penny is her name. She sleeps and play with him every day.

 IMG_5937IMG_5939

p/s: a gift from Aunt Janet. Both the onesie and Penny. Gotta love it when you have a friend that works at The Disney Co. Smile with tongue out

IMG_5934IMG_5935

Notice how his onesie is over his pants? Somehow, po po thinks that way looks better.

IMG_5941IMG_5942IMG_5946IMG_5947IMG_5949IMG_5950

We finally did get a video baby monitor, if you are wondering what that strange thing is over his crib.

Clipping away

Cutting Gaven’s finger nails is my least favorite thing to do. His nails grew so fast! When he was a newborn, he would constantly scratch his face, so we put mittens on him all day long. Now he is a little older, we stopped using mittens on him so he can “eat” his hands to self soothe. He still scratches himself here and there, but less often. I waited till his nails are crazy long to cut them. Babies’ nails are so paper thin that I am afraid that I will accidentally cut his fingers.

My mom decided that since I would not do it till we absolute have to, she would do it. Hmm…. not sure what she is thinking? If I, a 30 year old with much better eyesight than her, is afraid to accidentally cut his fingers, she, a 60 something old lady with deteriorating eyesight (sorry mom, I still love you Smile with tongue out) will do a better job than me?

Anyway, I let her do it. Sitting across from her, heart beating fast, biting my fingers, as I watched her put on her eyeglasses, sat Gaven on her lap, grabbed the nail clipper, starting to clip away. Here’s a visual image to demonstrate how I look like:

Okay, maybe not that bad, but I was pretty nervous. Surprised smileYou see, I was not the only one that was worried, Gaven was pretty scared himself.

IMG_5924IMG_5925IMG_5926IMG_5927

He watched intensely as po po clipped his nails away. He looked at me a few times with a helpless look as if to say “save me!” But of course, we have nothing to worry about. Po po did an awesome job. When the session was over, we both let out a sigh of relief. Phew….. Rolling on the floor laughing

Grandpa’s Birthday

We went over to my in law’s for a small birthday celebration yesterday. Boy, was Gaven fussy or what?! He was screaming and crying the whole time. And when he finally calmed down, cousin Jasmine put a little post-it note over his head that says “I’m sleeping". He went to sleep right after.

IMG_5960IMG_5963

Happy Birthday Grandpa! Sorry, we ruined your birthday. Maybe Gaven will behave next time.
